A 29-year-old Golden Meadow man is in custody of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office after he allegedly stabbed another man during an altercation.

Just before 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 18, deputies were called to East 178th Street in reference to a stabbing.

A Golden Meadow Police officer also responded to assist and made contact with Leanardo Cruggs, 29, of Golden Meadow.

Authorities said Cruggs had what appeared to be blood on his hands and clothing, which led authorities to take him into custody.

Authorities then made contact with a male victim who had larger lacerations to his left leg and arm and several small lacerations.

Deputies learned that the victim was at Cruggs’ residence when he got into an argument with a woman at the residence.

Cruggs then allegedly stepped in and started to fight with the man. During the fight, Cruggs allegedly retrieved a knife and stabbed the victim.

Cruggs was arrested and booked in the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on charges of aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon.

He is held on $10,000 bond.
