Houma Man Shot While Lying in Bed

A 57-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound to the leg while lying in bed, Houma Police say.  

Houma Police officers responded to the area of Lafayette Street in reference to the shooting on Wednesday, Jan. 22, just before 11 p.m. 

Houma Police learned that shots were fired in the vicinity of the victim’s home from a passing vehicle after further investigation.  

At this point, the investigation is in its infant stages and further information will be released as it develops, police say.  

The victim was transported to a local medical facility for non-life threatening injuries.
