A 37-year-old Houma man is charged with sexual battery after he allegedly rubbed his genitals against a woman’s midsection during a conversation.

On Monday afternoon at approximately 4:10 p.m., Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the 300 block of St. Charles Street in reference to a complaint of sexual battery.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with a 32-year-old female victim. She told deputies that she and another female went to 273 Monarch Drive to see a family member.

During that time, the victim said she was approached by a suspect, identified as Quentin Cannon, 37, of 273 Monarch Drive, Apt. H-2, Houma.

The victim said that she knows Cannon and does not get along with him, so she didn’t go inside the apartment.

Authorities said Cannon then went outside, grabbed the victim and firmly pressed his midsection against her midsection, while making sexual comments about what he was going to do to her.

On May 2, deputies went to 273 Monarch Drive and located the suspect for questioning.

During questioning, he allegedly admitted to grabbing the victim, but said it was only a joke.

He was arrested for sexual battery. He’s held on a $10,000 bond.
