Two suspects are in custody of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office after allegedly stealing a cash box from the Cut Off Youth Center during the facility’s Wednesday night Bingo.

Just before 7 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies were called to a robbery at the facility.

Two subjects, who were later identified as Keras Jackson, 26, of Thibodaux, and Damarcus Caine, 19, of Larose, allegedly entered the facility, approached a table selling bingo cards, then stole the cash box.

Several workers at the center chased after the suspects, but were unable to catch them.

But they were able to obtain a license plate on the suspects’ vehicle. Authorities also used surveillance video to help obtain a description of the suspects.

Authorities identified Caine and Jackson through the videos and made contact with both late Wednesday night, questioning each about their involvement in the incident.

Both suspects allegedly admitted to their involvement in the crime.

Both were arrested and booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center on one count of felony simple robbery.

Bonds were set at $10,000 each. Caine was released Thursday after posting bond.
