Country artist Billy Dean, the songwriter and voice behind such hits as “Somewhere In My Broken Heart” and “If There Hadn’t Been You,” headlines the Community Concert Association of Morgan City’s 2011-12 season.

Tickets for the seven-production are currently available for $45 (adults) and $10 (students).

Dean got his start in the 1990s, debuting with “Young Man.” The album included Billboard country chart toppers “Only Here for a Little While” and “Somewhere in My Broken Heart.” His most recent Asylum-Curb release, “Let Them Be Little,” written with Lonestar lead vocalist Richie McDonald peaked at No. 8 on the country charts.

The singer/songwriter will be in Morgan City Oct. 15.

Music lovers will appreciate the rest of this season’s lineup.

Intersection, a classical piano trio, violin, cello and piano, launch the rundown on Sept. 22. Their varied repertoire may center on a Ravel, Dvorak or Brahms trio but it’s sure to be unlike anything heard before. A Brahms Hungarian thread, for instance, may be spun into a sequence of Gypsy tunes, or Ravel may evolve into the ethereal world of a sensuous French song.

R&B man Sean Jones shares classic songs from his 2008 release, “This is Love,” on Oct. 31. And the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium will be brimming with patriotism Nov. 12 as “American Spirit” comes to town.

Soulful tenor and masterful songwriter Mark Masri takes the stage Feb. 6, 2012. His warm stage presence and heartthrob appeal have made him an international hit.

MASS Ensemble (Music, Architecture, Sonic, Sculpture) treats locals to an unforgettable multi-sensory theatrical experience March 8, 2012. Their one-of-a-kind, large-scale long-string and percussive instruments are built site-specific for each engagement. The “Earth Harp” alone spans 50- to 1,000 feet long.

“Take Me Home/John Denver” is the season closer April 24, 2012. Tribute artist Jim Curry brings his Las Vegas show to Morgan City as an enduring tribute to the American troubadour.
