Ready to spring into your garden but don’t know where to start? The answer is as close as the 3rd annual Bonne Terre Garden Fair May 3 at the Southdown Plantation/The Terrebonne Museum, 1208 Museum Drive in Houma.

The event is being presented by La-Terre Master Gardeners and LSU AgCenter. Gates open at 8:30 a.m. The festival is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults, and children 12 and under admitted free.

Experts will be on hand to answer your questions, and a number of expert speakers and demonstrations are planned. Vendors will also be selling plants and supplies and lawn and garden merchandise.

Aspiring gardeners can get tips on how to take care of their plants with the plant disease clinic and soil testing station.

And to keep children engaged, there are plenty of hands-on, garden-related activities.

The fair will be rounded off with a garden-themed art show and tours of the Southdown Plantation and museum.
