Rumor has it that fans of the Black Flag are in luck. One of the band’s founding members is coming to Louisiana to do a string of shows with his new project.

Chuck Dukowsky was the founding bassist of the punk rock band Black Flag. He wrote some of the band’s more popular songs, including “My War,” “What I See,” and “Spray Paint.”

Dukowsky went on to co-found the record label SST Records, which released music from some of the most influential names in alternative music, like Minutemen, Meat Puppets, Sonic Youth, and Dinosaur Jr; however, he’s back to performing live with his new band The Chuck Dukowsky Sextet.

The band will be touring our great state with Secret Society starting with Checkpoint Charley’s in New Orleans on Feb. 8th. Next they pass through Houma for a show at the Boxer and the Barrel set for Feb. 9th that promises to be an extravaganza of creativity and musical genius. The show will feature local bands such as: Attorney At Law, The Beautiful Hips, EMULATOR, Secret Society in Smaller Lies, and Guns of the Seneca.

Feb. 10th is the Squeaky Lizard in Ocean Springs, Miss.; Feb. 11th The Green Room in Lafayette, and finally the tour culminates on Mardi Gras in NOLA at the Dragon’s Den. This one is not to be missed.

The Chuck Dukowsky Sextet, anchored by a founding member of Black Flag, will tour through Houma with Secret Society in Smaller Lies in March.
