Throngs of fishermen have converged on Moran’s Marina, formerly Kajun Sportsman, for the 63rd Annual Golden Meadow-Fourchon Tarpon Rodeo.

Chris Moran, this year’s rodeo admiral, anticipates record participation after last year’s hiatus due to the Deepwater Horizon incident.

Scales are open July 1 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The following day, July 2, scales close in the children’s division at 4 p.m.; the scuba division at 5 p.m.; and the hook-and-line division at 6 p.m. The evening concludes with live music, food and beverages.

Door prizes are awarded all weekend.

Tickets are $25 for adults or $10 for children. Proceeds from the rodeo fund college and technical college scholarships for qualified South Lafourche High School graduates.
