Considered the largest of its kind in the United States, the Thibodaux Firemen’s Fair & Parade has over 50,000 people attend each year.

The Thibodaux Firemen’s Fairgrounds (1101 Tiger Drive) is the site for this year’s event, which runs through Sunday, May 2.

Known for its family-friendly atmosphere, the fair includes carnival rides, games, a live auction, plenty of traditional and Cajun fare and plenty of live music.

The high-energy Bucktown Allstars and Rockin’ Dopsie & the Zydeco Twisters jumpstart the fun on Thursday. Also slated to perform over the weekend are Na Na Sha, Waylon Thibodeaux, Tab Benoit, Louisiana’s LeRoux, Starship featuring Mickey Thomas, Hunter Hayes, Don Rich and Wet Willie featuring Jimmy Hall.

For more information about the four-day event, call (985) 446-FAIR or visit www.thibfiredept.org.
