Hear the holiday bells and sweet chorus singing good cheer?

If not, the Tri-parishes has a few places you can hear that and more.

The Nicholls State University Chamber Singers host the 24th edition of their Christmas Dinner Series on Dec. 2. The music and four-course holiday meal are served up at the Cotillion Ballroom of the Bollinger Student Union. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the program begins at 7 p.m.

This year’s presentation, titled “A Baby Boomer Christmas,” features popular music from 1945 to 1966 in a Christmas setting reminiscent of many childhoods. The musical lineup includes “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Silver Bells,” “Blue Christmas,” the Carpenters’ “Merry Christmas Darling,” “Silver and Gold,” “Santa Claus is Coming to Town,” Mel Torme’s “The Christmas Song” and “It’s Beginning to Look (a lot) Like Christmas,” among others.

An added treat, the night includes Elvis Presley tunes and other hits from the ‘50s.

Tickets are $35 each, or $20 for children ages 12 and under. Call (985) 448-4600 to reserve a spot.

If you’re looking for a free performance, check out the Houma-Terrebonne Community Band in the JCPenney Court at Southland Mall on Dec. 18. The Christmas Concert in the Mall kicks off at 6:30 p.m., and is open to the public.
