Looking to kick off the holiday with a hands-on holiday activity the younger set will enjoy? The Wetlands Acadian Cultural Center’s Holiday Open House Dec. 5 is just the ticket.

Set for 6 to 8 p.m., the holiday celebration at the Thibodaux center features story time, face painting, crafts, games, music and refreshments. And Santa will be on hand to snap photos with children.

The fun includes making traditional crafts highlight south Louisiana’s different cultures.

Set to perform are the TARC Bell Choir, Rejubilation Evangelical Community Youth Choir, Dusenberry Family Singers and Joyful Noise.

Best of all the event is free and open to the public.
