The Dulac Knights of Colmbus will sponsor the Down Da Bayou Festival from June 27-29 at Shrimper’s Row in Dulac. The admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children (kids age 6 and under are admitted free) and everyone is invited to come out for a good time.

Bosco Chaisson is in charge of booking entertainers for the event and promises fun for all ages.

“It will be a very good time,” Chaisson said. “We’ll have things for the kids and great music for the adults.”

Fais-Do-Do will start the event off Friday, June 27, performing from 6 to 7:30 p.m., followed by Don Rich, who is on stage from 8 p.m. to midnight. On Saturday, June 28, the music starts at 4 p.m. when Kerizma takes the stage. Treater also performs at 4 p.m. with special guests Pot Folse and Vin Bruce. Charles Mann will also make a special appearance.

Both Kerizma and Treater will play until 8 p.m. and are followed by Junior Lacrosse, who performs from 8 p.m. until midnight.

On the final day of the event, Wayne Foret will take the stage at noon and play until 3 p.m. Duane Schurb follows that act from 3 to 6 p.m., and Treater will perform once again as Schurb’s background band.

The Knights of Columbus are serving up white beans, jambalaya, hamburgers and hot dogs. Soft drinks and beer are available as well.

“It rained last year so a lot of people stayed away,” Chaisson said. “We encourage everyone to come out, and experience a good time. It will be fun for all ages.”

The festival also includes a live auction, bingo, local artisans and crafters and a raffle. Guests are asked to brink their own lawn chairs but no outside food, drinks or backpacks will be allowed.
