Once again, Trapp Cadillac Chevrolet and Sunburst Media will bring a night of live entertainment and delectable eats to the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center.

The 7th annual Taste of South Louisiana is set for Wednesday, Oct. 17, from 6 to 9 p.m., in the main arena of the civic center. Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased at the door.

The event is normally held in one of the meeting rooms at the civic center. However, people are becoming more accustomed to the event, which made Sunburst Media representatives rethink their rental plans.

Last year, more than 700 guests attended the fair, giving each a taste of what Louisiana cuisine has to offer.

This year, the arena will include 20 booths featuring restaurants from across the Tri-parishes. Featured foods will include Italian dishes, wings, burgers, sushi, seafood and yogurts.

Sunburst Media coordinators say the event is a good way for business owners to mingle outside of the usual board and conference rooms.

Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Haven, a Houma shelter for abused and battered women.
