Exhibits at Main Library
The Winds and Words of War, a collection of posters and propaganda from World War I will be on display at the Main Library from Jan. through March. The posters are on rent from the San Antonio Public Library Foundation. This exhibit is sponsored by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Departmnet of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council, as administered by the Houma Regional Arts Council and the Friends of the Terrebonne Public Library.
Emile Hebert will exhibit his Pan Handle Pete collection. This expansive collection includes Western paraphernalia of Old West, Hollywood West, and even an array of model antique and western guns. Holster, boots, hats, whips, and riffles are included. This exhibit will run throughout the end of 2009.
Students of St. Francis elementary school will host a display of their art in the Children’s Section of the Main Library. This display will run through the months of December and Jan.. The art is provided by a grant from the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government Arts Funding program as administered by the Houma Regional Arts Council.
