Thibodaux Regional Medical Center is continuing its push to make locals healthier. 

The hospital announced this week that it will host an eight-session program beginning on Sept. 11, which is geared to help locals manage their lifestyles and lose weight.


The course is called ‘Lifestyle Changes = Weight Management’, and it will take place on Mondays at 5:30 p.m. in TRMC’s Wellness Education Center, located at 726 North Acadia Road. 

Dates for the program are Sept. 11, 18 and 25, then Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30. 

Cost to attend is $75/person and the course will emphasize and teach the following:


  • Basics of weight loss
  • Meal planning and portion control
  • Label reading and grocery shopping
  • Physical activitt and eating out
  • Barriers to losing weight
  • Tools to keep you on track and motivated

Instructors for the course are registered dietitians Deana Leonard and Alyce DeGravelle, as well as registered nurses Katie Richard and Wendy Naquin. For more information, call (985) 493-4765.
