The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office has officially announced the commencement of the fireworks season in Lafourche Parish, starting today. Residents and visitors are now allowed to purchase, sell, and discharge fireworks during specified times, spreading the festive cheer across the community.

Here are the designated times for the use of fireworks:


  • December 15-23: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Christmas Eve: 9 a.m. to midnight
  • Christmas Day: 9 a.m. to midnight
  • December 26-30: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • New Year’s Eve: 9 a.m. to 2 a.m.
  • New Year’s Day: 9 a.m. to midnight

However, it’s essential to note that fireworks are strictly prohibited within the city limits of Thibodaux and the town of Golden Meadow, except at Oak Ridge Park. Residents in these areas are encouraged to enjoy the festivities at the designated park to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
