Fall is in full swing, and as temperatures drop, jack-o-lanterns, pumpkin pies, and autumn photo opportunities abound. To celebrate, Living Word Church invites families to a weekend of family fun at The Houma Pumpkin Patch this weekend, Oct 30 and Oct 31.

The family-friendly will host arts and crafts tents, hayrides, a live maze, delicious food, music, and a photo backdrop for family and friends to capture memories! Unfortunately, this year’s patch will not feature the rows of pumpkins for sale.

The purpose of the pumpkin patch is to support missions and ministries by offering good fun to the community. Due to Hurricane Ida’s devastating impact on Terrebonne Parish, the Patch’s weekends-long event of the past was shortened. However Outreach Director Tina Trosclair encourages the community to come out and enjoy fun activities and great food.

“Even though it’s been a very hard season since the hurricane, we wanted to give the families a place to go where the kids can laugh and have a stress free and fun time together,” shared Trosclair.

In addition to festive activities, the pumpkin patch will be serving delicious food! If you’re attending the pumpkin patch on Saturday, Oct 30th, guests will be served hot dogs, beignets, and jambalaya. If you’re attending Sunday, Oct 31, the menu includes beignets, burgers, hot dogs, and Dudley’s Fried Chicken and French Fries.

Living Word Church 2021 Pumpkin Patch is sponsored by Dishman Flooring, Melanie Rogers Bruce, Ameriprise Financial, Gregory Walter, Simply Non-Profits, Cajun Home Improvements, Synergy Bank, Boxer Rentals LLC, Aflac, and Stump Out.

The Pumpkin Patch will be held at Living Word Church in Schriever, LA (1916 HWY 311, near HWY 90) from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.
