All proceeds from Purses & Promises will help fund the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Terrebonne Parish. Through this program, registered local children receive one age-appropriate book every month until their fifth birthday. Research has shown that the program boosts literacy and social skills, as well as prepares children for Kindergarten.

TFAE has funded more than 280,000 books to more than 10,000 local children since adopting the program in 2012.  With approximately 3,300 children currently enrolled and receiving books each month, TFAE funds the program at approximately $75,000 a year. All proceeds from Purses and Promises event help to fund the program for Terrebonne Parish.

Purses and Promises is sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana, Rushing Media, Shell Pipeline Co., Terrebonne Ford, Synergy Bank, South Louisiana Bank, and Bayou Signs Outdoor.
