Two students from a Houma-area private school face juvenile criminal charges in connection with an allegation that they were involved in making video recordings of a schoolmate engaged in what were described as “explicit” acts.

Capt. Dawn Foret of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed Friday morning that the boys, both aged 15, surrendered to detectives Thursday morning.

Each face one count of video voyeurism, committed against the fellow student, a girl, at Covenant Christian Academy in Gray.

The suspects were sent to the Terrebonne Parish Juvenile Detention Center where they were released after $5,000 bond was posted for each.

Jason Hutchinson, the school’s principal, confirmed that authorities were notified when administrators learned of the alleged actions.

“Beyond that I have no comment,” Hutchinson said.

The sheriff’s office said further administrative action was taken by the school, which has strict rules regarding comportment. Violation of some of the rules, the school handbook says, can result in expulsion. •
