May 17, 2015Terrebonne Parish authorities have identified a body found in the water in Cocodrie but have not yet released the identity, pending family notification.
Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said that at approximately 4:45 p.m. Thursday a call was received from a fisherman in the area of the 7800 block of La Highway 56 in reference to a body found floating in the waterway.
Deputies and detectives arrived and confirmed the report and removed the body from the water.
Two tattoos – KKLS and “Tammy Sweet Lips” – were on the body.
TPSO received several leads and are investigating. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
The official classification is “suspicious” pending further information.
