Burglars made off with a new car and over 100 sets of keys early Tuesday at a Houma car dealership, according to a Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

Capt. Malcolm Wolfe said deputies were notified Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. that someone had broken into Barker GMC, 6444 West Main St. He said the burglar broke a window to gain entry into the building and stole over 100 sets of keys to new vehicles on the lot. A black 2006 Pontiac GTO was also reported stolen.

Wolfe said deputies with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office recovered the vehicle after a chase, however, the driver was able to escape.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to contact the TPSO’s detective bureau at (985) 876-2500.
