Chamber issues ad warning

The Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce issued a warning Wednesday regarding fraudulent advertising appeals being made in Lafourche Parish.

According to Chamber President Kathy Benoit, representatives with an unidentified marketing company out of North Carolina have been soliciting advertising on promotional tee-shirts. Some businesses of the area have gotten the impression that the advertising sales are connected to the Thibodaux Chamber.

Chamber officials became aware of this activity when a person came by the office and let them know of the activities.

“Please be advised that this solicitation is not a project of the Chamber, nor is it endorsed by the Chamber,” Benoit said. “It is not our intention to influence your advertising decisions, however, we felt you should be aware that this is not a Chamber project.”
