Armed robber sought


The Houma Police Dept. received a call on Feb. 23, at 7:39 p.m., that a male victim and his girlfriend were robbed at gunpoint. According to the report, the two were on the 200 block of Prince Collins Street when a male suspect approached with a gun as and said, “Give me what you got.”

Reports say the victim gave the suspect his wallet, and the suspect left.


According to the report, the victim was described as a black male wearing an oversized white T-shirt, with another white T-shirt around his neck; small braids in his hair; approximately 19-years old; dark complexion; medium build; with a black handgun.

Houma man cited for hit and run


Last Saturday night, a Houma man was issued a misdemeanor summons for hit and run driving and a citation for no driver’s license, no license plate and careless operation.


Reports say that Dewayne Robinson, 32, of 267 Brooklyn Ave. in Houma, was driving a 2001 Dodge Neon when he sideswiped a vehicle on Brooklyn Avenue and left the scene.

The complainant’s vehicle sustained minor damage to the driver’s side, according to the report. Robinson’s vehicle lost its side-view mirror in the crash. Officers later matched the mirror with the Dodge Neon.


Schriever man arrested with drugs


Houma Police issued a summons to Elvis Harris, 23, of 408 Hwy. 311 in Schriever, for amplified devices from a vehicle and possession of marijuana, early Sunday morning.

At 2:14 a.m., police patrolling the area of Park Avenue new Suthon Avenue heard loud music from a 1991 Cadillac Fleetwood in the city court parking lot. While conducting a traffic stop, the officers smelled burnt marijuana from the vehicle and observed a cigar wrapper containing what was believed to be marijuana, inside the vehicle.


Harris issued the summons and the marijuana was seized for evidence.


Houma man arrested for shoplifting TV

Houma Police Department arrested a man who shoplifted a 32-inch LCD flat panel television set from Wal-Mart on Feb. 23.


At 7:43 p.m., officers were dispatched to an area near East St. in reference to a male who had shoplifted from Wal-Mart.


Lt. Todd Duplantis said officers located the male subject in Daniel Turner Court with a Wal-Mart shopping cart containing a new television set.

When police contacted the subject, he gave a false name. Through further investigation, officers discovered his name was Albert Castle, 43, of 416 Ashlawn St. in Houma, the spokesman said.


Duplantis said officers were also advised of an outstanding warrant out on Castle for failure to appear. Castle was transported to the Terrebonne Parish Jail and booked for the warrant and shoplifting over $500.

Woman arrested after running over man’s leg

Houma Police Department was dispatched to the 600 block of Hobson Street in reference to a disturbance complaint.

Police spokesman Lt. Todd Duplantis said upon arrival officers contact a 26-year-old male victim, who advised an unknown female driving a large tan SUV ran over his right leg while he was standing in the middle of Hobson Street.

Duplantis said the victim stated that since he left a local lounge, two females were following him and several of his friends.

The man told police that the woman was wearing a red outfit with black boots and a wide black belt, which is the same subject driving the tan SUV.

Acadian Ambulance transported the victim to Terrebonne General Hospital where it was later learned that his right leg was broken. Duplantis said officers spoke to witnesses in the area who stated that a female in a red outfit arrived in the tan SUV to fight.

Witnesses told police the victim was standing in the street telling the female to leave. When she did leave, the female hit the victim with the front bumper of the vehicle, knocking him down and then rolling over his leg. Duplantis said the witnesses yelled for her to stop but she kept driving down Hobson Street, leaving the area.

The spokesman said while speaking with witnesses, the officers observed a large SUV on Hobson Street traveling at a high rate of speed.

Officers stopped the SUV on Columbus Street near Tunnel Boulevard. The driver was a female wearing a red outfit with black boots and a wide black belt, the spokesman said. She was identified as Sadie Ougel, 22, of 171 E. 7th Street in Cut Off.

Duplantis said through investigation she was identified as the suspect therefore she was arrested for aggravated battery and hit-and-run driving.

Ougel was transported to the Terrebonne Parish Jail where she was incarcerated awaiting trial or bond.

Houma man arrested for kicking woman’s car

Houma Police Department was dispatched to the 100 block of Prince Collins Street in reference to a criminal damage to property complaint.

Department spokesman Lt. Todd Duplantis said officers were told an argument between a male subject and his ex-girlfriend 35-year-old Cherina Marshall of 602 Roosevelt St. in Houma had occurred on the caller’s street in front of her residence.

Duplantis said the witness stated that the male subject had his vehicle, a 1991 Pontiac Bonneville, parked on the street in front of her house. She noticed Marshall had kicked the driver’s door of his vehicle and left.

At 8:45 p.m., the woman said she heard noises outside near her residence and when she walked outside she saw the 35-year-old cutting the tires of the victim’s vehicle. The caller said she told Marshall to leave because she was calling the police, Duplantis said.

Officers located Marshall at her residence on Roosevelt Street where she admitted to cutting the tires on the victim’s vehicle.

Marshall was issued a summons for simple criminal damage to property and was advised to stay away from the victim, the spokesman said.
