The oil spill has caused hard times for many Tri-parish residents.

That’s why Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux is offering assistance to prevent utility disconnects, evictions, and to provide prescription fillings and grocery store vouchers to those who qualify.

Anyone in need of assistance can call the Catholic Charities Oil Spill Hotline at (985) 696-1934 or (985) 696-1943.

The church is also organizing a volunteer, oil cleanup team.

Even though volunteers will not be working directly with the oil cleanup, anyone interested in helping out is invited to contact their church parish or Catholic Charities at (985) 876-0490 for more information.
