March 19, 2020Terrebonne Parish Government asks members of the public planning to distribute food, to do so in drive-thru fashion only to avoid gatherings of 50 or more.
All non-governmental organizations planning to conduct public distribution of food or any other items are asked to do so through drive-thru fashion only, said Parish President Gordon Dove, Thursday, March 19.
In a release, Dove said that Governor John Bel Edwards issued an executive order prohibiting the gathering of 50 or more to reduce the spread of Covid-19, and Dove said drive-thus will prevent these types of gatherings from happening.
He asked that anyone planning an event such as this contact Terrebonne Parish Public Safety Director Steven Ponville at (985) 873 – 6401, to help with logistics.
