A Galliano man is in critical condition after being shot twice in the face by an illegal alien early Sunday morning, authorities said.

Witnesses at the scene said 39-year-old Jamie Galvin was intoxicated when he peeled out of a parking lot on East 95th Street, throwing rocks and gravel onto the car of a Hispanic male identified as Jose Perez Garcia, Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Larry Weidel reported.

Garcia allegedly shot Galvin twice at point-blank range, the spokesman said.

Galvin was transferred to University Hospital in New Orleans where he remains in ICU in critical condition.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials confirmed that Garcia is an illegal with fraudulent documents, authorities reported.

Weidel said Garcia is now at-large, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Jose Perez Garcia is urged to contact the sheriff’s office.
