A 16-year-old Ellender Memorial High School student who ran away from her Houma residence accompanied by a 22-year-old ex-boyfriend has been located in Lafayette by her parents, according to a release from Houma Police.

Hailey Massey was reported missing by her mother on June 5 from their home at 301 Myrtle St. Concerned relatives searched as far as Texas for the girl. Massey had her name entered into the National Crime Information Center as a runaway juvenile.

Her boyfriend, Clayton Long, no address, had been arrested on April 26, 2007 by Houma Police for felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile, the release states.

On Monday, Massey and her parents went to the Houma Police Department. She was charged with being a runaway juvenile and released to her mother. Massey’s name was removed from the NCIC computer.

Long turned himself in to detectives and was issued a summons for contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, according to the release.

The case has been forwarded to City Court of Houma, authorities said.
