Entrepreneur Clarence Williams, a Terrebonne Parish native, is seeking election to the parish’s school board District 2 seat. The election is set for Oct. 2.


Williams is active in the community through various public boards and commissions.


If elected, he pledges to support opportunities for children to get a better education; support and introduce policies aimed at improving our school system; be accessible; be informative; and represent the position in a professional manner.

A graduate of Southdown High, Williams graduated from the University of Hawaii. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces.

A financial and administrative auditor and controller, Williams has served as a substitute teacher, board member of the Terrebonne Economic Development Authority, Chabert Medical Foundation and the Houma Area Convention & Visitor’s Bureau. He is also a member of the Houma Chamber of Commerce, Houma Rotary Club and the NAACP.
