A Houma man was arrested after the mother a 3-year-old told police that the man gave her child a Zanbar pill.

Houma Police arrested Christopher Little, 21, of 300 Stovall St., for distributing a CDS to a person under age 18, early Thursday, according to department spokesman Lt. Todd Duplantis.

Police were first tipped Little had supplied drugs to the child around 9:28 p.m. March 11. The 25-year-old mother said she was able to remove the pill from her child’s mouth, and that Little had fled the area before police arrived. She said Little was a friend of her brothers, and that she did not know why he would have given her son the narcotic.

After searching the area, police did not find the Houma man.

On Thursday, around 1:30 am., officers found Little on Point Street near Barataria Avenue. He denied giving the child any type of pill, but admitted to giving the boy a sip of beer that day, Duplantis said.

If convicted, Little faces a maximum penalty of five to 30 years in jail.
