A Houma man, identified by social media as Tyler Lee Barnett, has been reported missing from the Carnival Glory cruise ship.

The USCG shared: “Monday afternoon, Coast Guard watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a report of an unaccounted 28 year old male passenger from the cruise ship Carnival Glory.

After the crew of the Carnival Glory searched and could not locate the missing passenger aboard the ship, the Coast Guard launched two aircraft which conducted searches into Monday evening.

We are currently searching a large area of more than 200 miles of the ship’s voyage path due to the uncertainty of the potential time of him falling overboard. Coast Guard issued broadcasts and messages to mariners in the Gulf of Mexico notifying them of the missing passenger.

Dangerous weather conditions in the search area have negatively impacted our search efforts. Current Gale conditions and 8-12’ seas temporarily paused our active search efforts overnight. As soon as it is safe to do so, we will launch additional search assets.”
