A Houma woman was arrested early Tuesday after crack cocaine fell from the papers proving she had appeared in court on outstanding warrants, according to a Houma Police spokesman.

Lt. Todd Duplantis said officers spotted a 1990 Buick weaving along the road in the area of Daspit and Honduras streets at 3:22 a.m. Police stopped the Buick and questioned the driver, Connie Williams, 47, 1123 Daspit St.

As Williams searched for paperwork to prove she had been to court on outstanding warrants, Duplantis said a piece of suspected crack cocaine fell from the paperwork. Officers seized the narcotic to be analyzed at the State Police Crime Lab, he said.

Williams was unable to produce paperwork regarding the warrants, Duplantis said.

She was charged per-warrant for 10 counts of issuing worthless checks, one warrant for contempt of court, improper lane usage and possession of cocaine, the spokesman said.
