From Coteau Fire Department:
Hwy 182 is currently closed between Coteau Rd and Bayou Blue Rd. This closure is necessary to enable work crews to safe install a “water pipeline” along the shoulder of the roadway. Once completed, this water will be pumped into the marsh fire to extinguish it.
Hwy 182 in this area is expected to be closed until approximately 5:00 pm today (12-12-2023).
The same closure is expected to take place again tomorrow from 8:00am until approximately 5:00pm (12-13-2023).
Motorists can expect traffic delays in this area and are encouraged to use an alternate route. If you have to travel in this area, please drive safely.

FROM Louisiana State Police:
Starting today and extending into December 13, 2023, Louisiana Highway 182 between Louisiana Highway 316 and Louisiana Highway 660 will be closed while equipment is delivered and installed to help combat nearby marsh fires that has been causing visibility issues on the roadway.
The closure will last until 5 PM today and from 8 AM to 5 PM tomorrow. Motorists should use caution and find alternative routes.
