Joan M. Malbrough selected as new Hearing Officer for IV-D Child Support Program in Terrebonne Parish

The Judges of the 32nd Judicial District Court are pleased to announce that Ms. Joan M. Malbrough has been selected to serve as the new Hearing Officer for the IV-D Child Support Program commencing January 1, 2024.

The Hearing Officer in Terrebonne Parish is responsible for presiding over child support cases that are being handled through the State of Louisiana Federal IV-D Program. Malbrough will assume the role currently held by Mr. William Dunckelman, who will be retiring on December 31, 2023. “Mr. Dunckelman held the position for over 25 years and has done an excellent job in initiating and administering the program for the courts and for the citizens of Terrebonne Parish,” reads an official statement from the 32nd Judicial District Court. “We thank him for his leadership and wish him the best during his retirement.”


Malbrough expressed her excitement over her selection for the job. “I have always wanted to sit on the bench, and I was planning to retire, but when this position came available I decided retirement could wait,” said Malbrough. “I’m looking forward to serving the citizens of Terrebonne Parish, and hopefully doing a job job presiding over these important cases.”
