Coteau Fire Dept: HWY 182 & COTEAU ROAD IS NOW OPEN FOR TRAFFIC
Additional Troopers from Troop C have been called to assist with road closures. Deputies from the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office and Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office as well as members of local fire departments are also out assisting.
12/7/23 5:30 am Update (Louisiana State Police):
US Hwy 90 Closure: Visibility conditions have deteriorated on US Hwy 90 and the roadway is now closed between LA Hwy 316 and LA Hwy 308. Motorists traveling east on U.S. Hwy 90 will have to exit at LA Hwy 316. Motorists traveling west will have to exit at LA Hwy 308 in Raceland.
LA Hwy 182 Closure: Between LA Hwy 1 and LA Hwy 3087 (Prospect Blvd).
Motorists should use caution as traffic congestion will be present. Adjust travel times accordingly and utilize maps/GPS apps to plan alternate routes.
Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office:
UPDATE: US 90 westbound now closed at LA 308, and LA 182 now closed at Nocko’s.
ROAD CLOSURES: portions of US Hwy 90 and LA Hwy 182 are closed due to smoke from marsh fires.
US Hwy 90 Closure: between LA Hwy 316 (Bayou Blue Road) and LA Hwy 182 (Houma/Raceland – Exit 210).
LA Hwy 182 Closure: Between LA Hwy 653 and LA Hwy 660 (Coteau Road).
Motorists should use caution as traffic congestion will be present. Adjust travel times accordingly and utilize maps/GPS apps to plan alternate routes.

Lafourche and Terrebonne Parishes – Due to heavy smoke from nearby marsh fires causing low visibility and unsafe driving conditions, US Hwy 90 East and West and LA Hwy 182 will be closed until conditions improve.
US Hwy 90 Closure: between LA Hwy 316 (Bayou Blue Rd) and LA Hwy 182 (Houma/Raceland – Exit 210). Motorists traveling on US Hwy 90 can detour onto LA Hwy 316 and LA Hwy 182 to continue on US Hwy 90.
LA Hwy 182 Closure: Between LA Hwy 316 and LA Hwy 660 (Coteau Rd).
Motorists should use caution as traffic congestion will be present. Adjust travel times accordingly and utilize maps/GPS apps to plan alternate routes.
