More than 50 locals will go on a cruise as part of the Kiwanis Club of Houma’s 52-week raffle, which will begin in March.

Tickets for the raffle are on sale now and beginning in March, one name will be drawn a week – each winner earning a $1,000 Carnival Cruise gift card or a cash prize.

Cost for a ticket is $100.

“A hundred bucks seems like a lot of money at first,” said Kiwanian Joan Malbrough. “But when you consider that you have a chance to win each week for a year, it’s less than a Powerball ticket per drawing and you stand a lot better chance of winning.”

The Kiwanis Club of Houma’s primary mission is to improve communities with a special focus on the needs of children.

Funds raised in the raffle will help support many activities of the Kiwanis Club of Houma, including Terrific Kids awards to third grade students, Coats for Kids coat drive, Books for Bikes summer reading program, Nicholls and Fletcher scholarships and other local events.

More information about the raffle is available by visiting the Kiwanis of Houma Facebook page or visiting www.kiwanishouma.com.
