Letters outlining Post-Hurricane Ida Total Fair Market Value for Lafourche Parish residential property owners will begin being mailed on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. A table within each letter will outline the residential property owner’s Pre‐Hurricane Ida Total Fair Market Value and their Post‐Hurricane Ida Total Fair Market Value. Under the Adjustment Column, the property owner will notice the Change In Adjustment to their Total Fair Market Value that is based on the average damage in their respective area.

The highlighted adjustment value in the letter is the value the residential property owner may have lost to their home that will not be taxed in the 2021 tax year. Residential property owners believing their adjustment is incorrect, can visit www.lpao.net/hurricaneida to learn how to submit proper documentation supporting possible additional adjustments or call the Lafourche Parish Assessor’s Office office at 985‐447‐7242.

“Our staff has been working tirelessly since Hurricane Ida devastated our parish to ensure the residents of Lafourche do not face any additional hardships. We continue to work to ensure everyone across our parish is treated fairly,” said Lafourche Parish Assessor Wendy L. Thibodeaux, CLA.

All other taxpayers will receive estimates by early February 2022. It is estimated that all 2021 Tax Bills will be distributed in March 2022.
