Houma oil-drilling platform maker Chet Morrison Contractors has purchased Premium Well Services, a subsidiary of Larose-based International Offshore Services.

Premium Well Services, located in Harvey, plugs wells and performs work on hydraulic systems and abandoned wells.


The company will relocate to Houma and become a subsidiary of Chet Morrison named Chet Morrison Well Services.

The move will bring 75 new jobs to Houma, according to a Chet Morrison press release.

Besides constructing oil platforms, Chet Morrison installs and repairs oil and gas pipelines and provides diving services supporting oil and gas production in the Gulf of Mexico.
