Houma residents should recognize the landmark featured on the cover of the local 2007-2008 AT&T Real Yellow Pages.

The cover of the new telephone directory was unveiled Friday, and spotlights the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center. The cover is the result of an intensive marketing campaign by former Civic Center Marketing Director Lauren Babin and AT&T Gulf Coast Marketing Manager Sandra Falcon.

“We are really excited to see the economic engine driving Terrebonne Parish featured this way,” said David Ohlmeyer, civic center executive director.

The civic center features a 4,500-seat arena and was built nine years ago to host functions as diverse as business conventions, concerts and graduations.

The AT&T Real Yellow Pages Houma edition will be delivered beginning this month to over 78,000 area homes and businesses. Attendees at the unveiling of the 2007-2008 AT&T Real Yellow Pages Houma edition cover included Terrebonne Parish Councilman Alvin Tillman, Falcon, Civic Center Development Corporation members and civic center staff.

AT&T has recently merged with Bell South, and this telephone directory is the company’s first Real Yellow Pages to be published in the United States since the merger.

The AT&T Real Yellow Pages contains information about the area, emergency and 911 guides, listings for government agencies at the local, state, and federal levels and important local listings.

“This cover gets our name out there, and we think it will raise awareness of the civic center in the business community,” said Lori A. Toups, sales manager for the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center.

The new directory will contain listings not only for Houma, but Bourg, Chauvin, Dulac, Gibson, Montegut, Morgan City and Thibodaux.

The cover photo of the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center features the modern, massive facility brightly lit at night. The photo was taken by former civic center employee Tammy Usie.
