A local health franchise has partnered with renowned publisher Chicken Soup for the Soul to provide its customer with a healthy guide to physical fitness and better living.

Nowadays, health and fitness information is pretty commonly available. The trend to become fit continues to grow, an indication that most Americans yearn to live healthier lives.

Contour Express, a women’s gym, is contributing another medium that encourages women to join the bandwagon. The Kentucky-based circuit training gym franchise partnered with Chicken Soup for the Soul, the number one-rated best-selling book publisher, to co-publish Chicken Soup for Soul Supplements specifically for Contour Express members.

Released in January, the book also features the signature Contour Express 29-minute express workouts, as well as a new line of natural supplements.

Local franchise owner Mary Anthony said the book is a guide to weight loss and emotional gain. “This is an excellent partnership that we are so excited to be participating in and spreading the word about. It’s great to combine our already strong offerings with the addition of these fantastic amenities that were specially designed for the Contour Express woman,” she said.

“We like to encourage women take control of their fitness future and to make a positive difference in their everyday lives n this initiative will help us spread the message even more,” Anthony added.

Founded in 1998, Contour Express is a specialized women’s training gym. It currently has more than 600 clubs operating around the world. The company’s philosophy is focused around helping women get fit in a comfortable, supportive and effective environment.

The gym’s weight-bearing resistance equipment provides the benefits of both positive and negative resistance, according to Anthony. Club members are offered a workout plan designed to increase strength and flexibility, and to improve cardiovascular health. Anthony said the results are evident. She said many of the local members have seen changes in their bodies since they started following the book.

“Our system is a really unique and effective way to work out,” Anthony said. “Between our weight-loss track record, equipment, and hands-on approach to fitness our specialized work-out makes us stand out from the rest.”

Included in the Chicken Soul for the Soul Supplement are shakes and formulas for carb-blocking, anti-inflammatory joint relief and anti-stress needs. For Contour Express members, the book doubles as a journal to monitor their vitamin intake and fitness program.

“We expected that the supplements and new book will give our gym members an opportunity to lead healthier lives,” said Bill Helton, president of Contour Express.

The book is available at Contour Express, 188 Enterprise Dr. in Houma, or at Amazon.com. For more information, contact Anthony at (985) 226-6458 or (985) 580-2004.
