Contractor management training course offered

The Louisiana Contractors Accreditation Institute is conducting a management training course via satellite at the Thibodaux campus of Louisiana Technical College (1425 Tiger Dr.) Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. from Tuesday, April 1 to Thursday, May 8.

The cost is $125.

The course is designed to instruct small construction businesses in construction management techniques and to prepare participants for the General Contractors State Licensing Exam.

Topics covered will include bid processes, contract management, estimating and occupational safety.

The course can expand access to construction opportunities, said John Matthews, executive director of Louisiana Economic Development’s Small Business Services in a release.

The institute is a partnership between the department and the Louisiana Community and Technical College System.
