Ever wonder what it would take to run your own import/export business?

Tri-parish businesses will soon have an opportunity to learn through a four-part seminar led by business leaders across the region. The executive program is aimed at preparing companies for international trade.

Increasingly, companies are competing in a global marketplace, and the upcoming seminar series will help business owners and representatives learn to level that playing field through preparation.

In a joint effort by Terrebonne Economic Development Authority and the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce, business counselors from the Greater New Orleans Region of the Louisiana Small Business Development center will help the Terrebonne business community prepare for international trading.

The series will address strategies, market research and marketing plans, pricing, terms, customs entry procedures, international banking and financing, transportation and documentation.

In addition, counseling on international market research, banking and finance, legal matters, documentation and transportation will also be available.

Afternoon sessions will be held on April 16, 18 and 25 and May 2 at the parish chamber of commerce, 6133 Hwy. 311 in Houma.

The cost for the seminars is $160, which includes all sessions and books. A discount rate is available for chamber members and TEDA clients.

For more information or to register, call TEDA at (985) 873-6890 or the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce at (985) 876-5600.
