Bob Deason has been named chief executive officer of J. Ray McDermott, S.A. (“J. Ray”), a subsidiary of McDermott International, Inc.

Deason served as the chief operating officer and president since joining J.Ray in March 2003.


“Bob Deason has been a key and critical leader,” said Bruce Wilkinson, chairman and CEO of McDermott International, Inc. “By any measure – including revenue, operating income, assets, debt ratings and, most importantly, the strength of the personnel who form the management team – J. Ray has improved dramatically under Bob’s guidance.”


J. Ray recently reported a gain of nearly U.S. $100 million from the first quarter of 2006 to that of 2007. In the same time period, J. Ray’s fabrication utilization rose approximately 70 percent above the company’s standard.

Prior to joining J. Ray, Deason held positions with Fluor Corp., including vice president, Operations and vice president, Project Management Production, Pipelines and Marine Services. He also served as executive vice president of Gulf Interstate Engineering Company and senior vice president, Operations of PLT Engineering.

Deason received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University.
