Lafourche Chamber banquet tonight

The Lafourche Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual awards banquet at 7 p.m. tonight at the Larose Civic Center, 307 East 5th St., Larose.

The chamber will award its Business Person of the Year, Business & Industry of the Year, Educator of the Year, Community Hero and Ambassador of the Year.

Curt Boudreaux, a motivational speaker, author and Cajun humorist, will deliver the keynote address. Boudreaux has written three volumes of “Never Kiss an Alligator on the Lips,” and his “humor brings freshness and accessibility to his message of motivation,” according to his website.

Registration begins at 6 p.m., with a silent auction, cash bar and entertainment.
