December 4, 2013Don Griffin, the Grand Isle Port Commission and South Lafourche High principal Gaye Cheramie will be the big winners at tomorrow night’s Lafourche Chamber of Commerce banquet.
Set to begin at 7 p.m., the annual awards dinner will be held at the Larose Civic Center.
“We look forward to this event each year as we honor our own,” said chamber board chair Simone Maloz.
Griffin, of Griffin’s Marina & Ice, will be named the Business Person of the Year; the Grand Isle Port Commission the Business & Industry of the Year; and Cheramie the Educator of the Year.
Awards will also be given to the Community Hero and Ambassador of the Year.
The event serves as the year-end fundraiser and includes a silent auction.
