Louisiana elected officials are filing financial disclosure forms for the first time since new ethics laws were passed last year.

Lawmakers, mayors, city council members and others from around the state had until Friday to file. The public can view financial information about their elected officials at the Louisiana Board of Ethics’ Web site.

But many legislators have yet to file their forms.

They are classified in a way that allows them to file an extension if they also got an income tax extension from the Internal Revenue Service.

To view the reports, visit the state Board of Ethics Web site at http://www.ethics.state.la.us/ PFDisclosure/Default.aspx.
