The Cut Off branch of MidSouth Bank officially opened in September.

The full-service branch is Lafourche Parish’s second, and the fourth MidSouth Bank operation in the southern Louisiana, which includes the Tri-parishes.

The facility is located at 13924 Hwy. 1, near Franks Super Value Foods.

“The community of Cut Off is about 20 miles from Port Fourchon, which is critical to the local economy because 30 percent of the oil in the country goes through this port,” said Troy Cloutier, president of the South Louisiana Region. “We have exceeded our loan growth expectations in the south Lafourche area and plan to double our current portfolio by the end of 2008, in part because of this new location.”

Noting loans up to $25 million are available at the Cut Off location, Cloutier predicted within five years “this could be one of our best markets.”

“The area is primed for what we do – lines of credit, equipment loans, boat loans, leases, insurance premiums,” said Janice Savoie, the bank’s regional retail manager. “This new location will make it much more convenient for our customers in this area and will enable us to effectively market out products and services to a whole new base of customers.”

Savoie and her husband, Nicky, recently relocated from Tampa, Fla., to the south Lafourche area.

Mid-South has 31 locations in Louisiana and Texas. Locally, it has a site in St. Mary Parish, one in Terrebonne Parish and two in Lafourche.
