St. Mary program seeks recruits

St. Mary Parish is in need of leaders interested in moving the parish forward, according to Jason Bailey, chairman of Leadership St. Mary.

Bailey, a business development and commercial loan officer for M C Bank and vice chair of the St. Mary Chamber of Commerce, pitched the local chamber’s latest program last week at the Franklin Rotary Club.

Leadership St. Mary seeks to recruit and develop leaders who will actively seek to improve the parish’s business, education and government sectors as well as residents’ quality of life.

Sept. 10 is the deadline to apply for the first class. A welcome reception will be held the following day.

Leadership St. Mary meets one day per month for seven months, ending April 10, 2013. The program also has an overnight retreat.
