The South Louisiana Economic Council Monday acknowledged a continued commitment by the Terrebonne Economic Development Authority to regional recruitment and business retention efforts within the Bayou Region through its contribution of $25,000 to SLEC.

The contribution is part of an annual commitment to funding economic development efforts at a regional level by the four Bayou Region parishes of Assumption, Lafourche, St. Mary and Terrebonne.

“The Bayou Region is vital to the economic growth for our state and our nation,” TEDA CEO Steve Vassallo said. “We have a great team working to bring new business into our area and I am thrilled to continue Terrebonne’s participation at the regional level. “

“We know from our years in economic development that companies consider the assets of the entire region when considering a move or startup,” SLEC CEO Vic Lafont added. “The resources of Terrebonne Parish are a critical factor in our regional success and we are most grateful for their continued participation in the region’s growth.”

SLEC is a 501 (3)(c) not for profit economic development agency established to support regional economic development. TEDA is the primary public/private economic engine of Terrebonne Parish.
