TEDA to host Export Trade Symposium

Free seminars are being offered by the Terrebonne Economic Development Authority for exporters and lenders on Tuesday, June 23, at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center.


The seminars are intended for manufacturers, service providers, wholesalers, distributors and trading companies.


The first class, running from 8:45 to 11 a.m., covers how the Export-Import Bank and U.S. Small Business Administration finance export sales orders; the process of completing an application for financing from the Ex-Im Bank; special financing products for environmental exports, and enhancements for small, women-and minority-owned businesses, among other topics.

The second seminar, conducted from 1:30 to 4 p.m., covers tapping foreign market information from 84 countries; offering competitive credit terms to foreign customers; reducing product and overhead cost, and matching funds for international marketing.

Presenters include representatives from the Export-Import Bank of the United States, Small Business Administration, New Orleans U.S. Export Assistance Center, and Southern United States Trade Association.
