Charles Theriot, CPA, of Houma, was recently given the Society of Louisiana CPA’s (LCPA) Outstanding Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Discussion Leader Award.

The honor is given annually to the state’s top-rated discussion leader based on the number of hours taught, evaluations of participants and overall quality of courses.

A highly rated speaker on taxation, Theriot is a frequent speaker at seminars and tax conferences for CPAs in 17 states.

Last year, he was given the LCPA’s Special Recognition Award for his role in developing and presenting the Small Business Disaster Recovery seminars. The sessions were designed to education small businesses and CPAs on tax relief information and business survival strategies.

Theriot is a past president of the LCPA and its South Central chapter. He operates his own CPA firm in Houma where he specializes in all aspects of federal and state tax planning and reporting, assisting individuals in buying, selling and financing business transactions and aiding their legal counsel in litigation-related matters.
